We take privacy seriously and we don't do anything weird with your data. This page explains what we collect, how we use it, and how you can ask us to delete it.

1. Who we are

2. What we collect

  • Newsletter signups: email address (required) and first name (optional).
  • Contact-form submissions: name, email, and the contents of your message.
  • Report download requests: email address.
  • Server logs: our content delivery network (Amazon CloudFront) records basic access logs — IP address, request time, requested URL, and user-agent string. Logs are kept for up to 30 days for operational diagnostics, then deleted.

3. What we don't collect

  • No third-party analytics tracking (no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no Hotjar).
  • No cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.
  • No fingerprinting.
  • No data sold to third parties. Ever.

4. How we use what we collect

  • Newsletter: to send you the newsletter you subscribed to, and only that. We do not share your email with affiliates, partners, or anyone else for marketing.
  • Contact form messages: to read what you wrote and reply.
  • Server logs: to diagnose site issues and to detect abuse (e.g., scraping at unusual rates).

5. Who processes your data on our behalf

  • Amazon Web Services (CloudFront, S3) — site hosting and content delivery.
  • Our newsletter platform — to send the newsletter. Their privacy policy governs what they store. (Provider listed on the Contact page when active.)

We don't share your data with anyone else.

6. Your choices

  • Unsubscribe: every newsletter email has an unsubscribe link. We honor it immediately. You can also reply with "unsubscribe" or email info@bookofloads.com.
  • Delete your data: email us and we'll remove your record from our newsletter list and contact-form archive. CloudFront access logs expire on their own.
  • Access your data: email us and we'll send you whatever we have on file for your address.

7. Children

The site is for adults working in or curious about the freight industry. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

8. Compliance frameworks

Our newsletter complies with CAN-SPAM (accurate sender identification, working unsubscribe, mailing address in footer). If you're in a jurisdiction with stricter rules (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and want your data removed, just email us and we'll handle it.

We'll update this page if our practices change. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
